I was delighted to meet very talented chef, Paul Cunningham from Mourne Larder, to talk foraging, Saint Patrick, and to teach this old dog some new tricks!

Check out the video below to see what we foraged for and feasted on where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea! BIG thank you to Paul. I learned a lot from him on the day and hope to repay the education when he gets to visit Skerries.

Paul hails from beautiful Dundrum bay which has the majestic Slieve Donard in the background and has been foraging on the shoreline since he was a youngster. It was just fabulous to meet a young chef who shares my passion for locally sourced produce.

To top it all off, we got to taste some delicious Kilmegan Cider which is also made in the area and is completely free from any artificial additives or sweeteners.

So, like I imagine Saint Patrick may have done on his journey north from Skerries to Strangford lough – stop in at Dundrum Bay and feast like a local!
